The One Thing I Do Every Monday to Live Intentionally
2,574 weeks to go. How many do you have?
Each week, I fill in another square on this poster in my office.
I walk into the room, set down my bag, my thoughts on one hundred other things. I see it and remember.
Another week has slipped by.
As I fill it in, this little box of my life that has passed into memory, I wonder.
Am I happy with what I did with this square?
How did it go by so very quickly?
What can I do with the next one, to really make a difference?
What in my life simply must change before another. single. square. goes by?
I look at the rows and rows of empty squares still remaining, offering potential. And perspective.
It feels like forever before our nine-year-old will be heading out on his own. Like we have all the time in the world for Lego building and lazy Saturdays. But it’s less than ten rows below today.
Life is long, but it is fast. The square you’re standing in is filling up. Use it well, today.
